It is important to understand in the case with a woolen carpet that it is not the pile but only the residual fibers. Wall-to-wall carpets from viscose have the same property of down getting off. However this effect disappears after a few months of exploitation. Let us consider the fiber materials used in the manufacture of carpets in details. Buy wall-to-wall carpets from wool. Fleece is the most traditional fiber for wall-to-wall carpets production. When you buy wall-to-wall carpets you should know that Australia is considered the largest producer of wool in the world. But this is true only for wool, used for fabrics and clothes. The wool for wall-to-wall carpets is produced mainly in New Zealand and the UK.
